Diese News hat zwar nicht direkt etwas mit dem psychologischen Action-Thriller Alan Wake zu tun, aber dürfte dennoch für viele Fans interessant sein.

Denn heute wurde ganz offiziell die Fortsetzung der Max Payne-Serie von den Entwicklern "Rockstar Games" angekündigt. Nachdem „Remedy Entertainment“ für die Teile "Max Payne 1 & 2" verantwortlich und damit sehr erfolgreich war, betraut der Publisher "Take Two" nun "Rockstar Games Vancouver" (entwickelten zuletzt "Bully") mit der Entwicklung. Spekulationen und Gerüchte gab es danach genüge über einen neuen Max Payne-Titel, aber offiziell wurde nie eine Fortsetzung bestätigt, bis heute: 

"Max Payne 3 Announced 

The award-winning Max Payne franchise put players in the role of Max Payne, a hard-boiled New York City detective with a penchant for violence, out to avenge the death of his family. The latest installment delivers more of the classic elements and hyper-intense action that fans have come to love, while moving the story of Max in a new direction.

"We’re starting a new chapter of Max's life with this game," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "This is Max as we’ve never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever. Spätestens im Winter 2009 für Xbox 360, PS3 und PC wird sich zeigen, ob „Rockstar Games“ ein ähnlich gutes Produkt wie die Meisterwerke "Max Payne 1 & 2" abliefern kann.
